While practicing as an Advocate, he represented a number of high-profile corporations including McDonalds, Abbott Laboratories, Anglo American Bank and Barclays Bank. Ashley successfully argued cases in both the High Courts in South Africa and the South African Constitutional Court, and a number of the cases he successfully argued were reported in the South African law reports.
He received his law degrees from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has been admitted to the State Bars of Illinois and New York; the United States Federal Court of the Northern District of Illinois; Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals; Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals; Advocate of High Court of South Africa; and the United States Supreme Court.
In his wide travels he has come in contact with several cultures and has developed the ability to relate with people of diverse. In the 13 plus years he has resided in the United States, he has dealt with the United States Immigration service extensively at every level.
